ABOUT

Chris Buhidar

Chris Buhidar is a diesel enthusiast and returning competitor in the Ultimate Callout Challenge. His passion for competing with the best of the best in the diesel industry motivated him to enter UCC in the beginning. For Chris, it's about pushing himself and his team to get better and challenge themselves.

Competing at the highest level has been an exciting but grueling experience. Chris admits to lots of broken parts, lost sleep, and gray hair. But the best part is learning how much they can do as a team, how talented their group of guys is, and how much pride and heart they put into it.

Before UCC, Chris's driving experience was primarily in drag racing, starting with mud/dirt drags and then progressing into 1/4-mile drag racing. Chris chased points in NHRDA super street and achieved three consecutive National Points championships.

Chris takes the most pride in their NHRDA super street points championships because it shows the long-term dedication and consistency they built into the truck. Although they haven't had their greatest accomplishment at UCC yet, Chris's biggest accomplishment is building a jack-of-all-trades truck, from drag racing to dyno to sled pull. They do all the fabrication, wiring, tuning, and everything else themselves, which is a significant accomplishment in itself.

Chris' expectations and goals for the coming year are to be more consistent and not be hampered by parts limitations, focusing on tuning the truck over each pass to the track conditions and applying as much power as possible.

Regarding routine heading into UCC, Chris has found it not to be that way. They have done 100-hour weeks with no sleep before, and their best finish was with the latter.

Chris has a dedicated team to thank for supporting their efforts in events like UCC. Most importantly, the guys at the shop bust their asses on the truck and help out at UCC and endure three days of blood, sweat, and tears. Chris also acknowledges the support of their sponsors, including S&S Diesel, One Up Off-Road, Freedom Racing Engines, Parks Engine Service, and Brians Truck Shop.

The truck's best pass to date is 5.39@134mph in the 1/8 mile and 8.57@165 in the 1/4 mile. Chris and his team continue to push themselves and their truck to the limit, competing against the best in the diesel industry.
