ABOUT

Josh Fawcett

Josh Fawcett is a dynamic competitor in the 2024 Ultimate Callout Challenge, bringing a unique blend of street and competition experience to the event. Known for his relentless drive and passion for diesel performance, Josh's journey is a testament to dedication and the pursuit of excellence.

Josh's current truck is a formidable machine, producing around 1200 horsepower with a big single turbo. Remarkably, he still drives it on the street, yet it's equally at home on the sled pull track and drag strip. One of his most significant achievements was in Eastern Ontario, where he outperformed a 3.6” Dodge on cut tires and a 3.0 truck, clinching the class win with his "street truck." This victory epitomizes his competitive spirit and mechanical prowess.

Despite the intense preparation and competition, Josh keeps his family at the forefront of his motivation. His three sons, Holden, Brock, and Ashton, are his biggest fans, and they often watch YouTube videos of their dad's exploits and proudly declare Duramax the best diesel engine in the world. Their pride and inspiration fuel Josh's ambition to excel.

Following the Ultimate Callout Challenge, Josh plans to transform his truck further by installing a 1969 GMC body, a project he has envisioned since 2017. However, true to his roots, he will ensure it remains a street-legal powerhouse.

The path to this year's event has been anything but smooth. Josh registered less than a month before the event, ensuring an atmosphere of "complete chaos." However, this challenge didn't deter him; it only added to his resolve.

Key to Josh’s success is the friends and family who support him tirelessly. He extends heartfelt thanks to Randy Overton, Tony Burkhard, the DHD team, and his buddy Lucas for their unwavering support and expertise. Dmitri Millard, a giant in the diesel community, has been a significant mentor, offering advice and backup parts whenever needed.

Josh’s competitive history includes an impressive 11.70-second quarter-mile run, even though he let off after the eighth mile at full weight. Despite limited dyno time, his truck consistently performs at a high level, a testament to his skill and commitment.

The bond with Dmitri Millard adds an intriguing layer to Josh's story. Initially connecting over a technical discussion on injector hold-downs, Josh helped Dmitri get his truck back on track, an experience that laid the groundwork for a supportive and collaborative relationship. This camaraderie, coupled with encouragement from Tony Burkhard, led Josh to bring his grey truck to the UCC, despite initial uncertainties.

In Josh Fawcett, the Ultimate Callout Challenge has a competitor who embodies the essence of diesel performance—dedication, skill, and a never-ending drive to push boundaries. His story is one of passion, family, and community, making him a standout participant in the 2024 UCC
