ABOUT

Kenny Bruner

The decision to enter the Ultimate Callout Challenge stemmed from a long-held dream and passion for the event. Having attended every year as a spectator, the allure of competing with one truck across all three challenging events intrigued UCC vet, Kenny Bruner. Balancing the complexities of sled pulling and drag racing while designing a truck capable of excelling in both aspects was thrilling.

Competing at the highest level is driven purely by the love of the sport rather than financial gain. It's a fun endeavor rooted in passion and dedication, with no expectations beyond enjoying the experience and pushing the limits of the build.

Before the Ultimate Callout Challenge, Bruner’s experience encompassed participation in all three events multiple times, showcasing a well-rounded skill set. The journey has been a test of endurance and commitment, requiring a significant investment of time and effort. Still, the support of his family has been invaluable in achieving this feat.

Looking ahead, Bruner’s goals for the build include achieving specific benchmarks on the dragstrip, dyno, and pulling track, aiming for strong performances while prioritizing the truck's longevity. While there's a desire to be a strong contender at UCC, the focus remains on enjoying the journey and returning to participate in local events afterward.

The routine heading into UCC revolves around embracing the experience and having fun, regardless of outcomes. The camaraderie and energy of the event, coupled with the support of family and sponsors like Freedom Racing Engines, Dynomite Diesel Performance, and others, fuel the excitement and drive to excel. Despite the challenges and uncertainties, there's a shared sense of enthusiasm and determination to make the most of the opportunity.
